Ancestors, Making a Better World, Fomenting Racial Justice -- by 7/12
And helping me empty my apartment
You probably know I'm vacating my apartment at the end of July for four years of grad school in Philly.
I'd really like to clear out my inventory of my last four books. If you'd like to buy one (or three or eight), I'd be happy to sign them and also cover shipping costs within the US.
With rollbacks in LGBTQ+ rights even during Pride, in access limitations placed on people with disabilities during Disability Pride month, with an assault on racial equal rights in the midst of what Dr. William Barber called "The Third Reconstruction," it feels like time to turn to ancestors for wisdom. It feels like time to learn about communities who have overcome impossible odds to create justice. It feels like time, for some of us, to turn to the encouragement of scriptures that are all about justice and all about community if we can read them without the lenses of empire and patriarchy blurring our sight.
If you fill in this form BY SUNDAY MORNING, I'll get books in the mail to you on Monday and then send you info on payment.
I try not to overuse this list with sales pitches. Thanks for bearing with me as I try to get my house in order this month.
With gratitude,
Sandhya
